What Inclusion Means
- Educating children with disabilities in regular classroom regardless of
the nature of their disabling condition.
- Providing an appropriate individualized education program
- providing all necessary educational services
- Involving students with disabilities in age-appropriate academic classes
and extracurricular activities including art, music gym, fieldtrips, assemblies
and graduation exercises
- Supporting regular education teachers and administrators by providing
time, training, teamwork, resources and strategies
- Students with disabilities use school cafeteria, library, playground and
other facilities along with non-disabled students
- School resources allocated to teach and provide opportunities for
relationship building
- Teaching all children to understand and accept human differences
- Providing all students enhanced opportunities to learn from each others
contributions
- Students with disabilities receive their education and job training in
regular community environments
